- Richard 'Dickie' Murphy, Dad and Papa, 81, left for his next adventure on February 4, 2018.
Dickie has left behind the love of his life, Gertrude; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Blaine Demont; granddaughter, Jordyn; granddaughter, Rena and her children, Evan and Ameila; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Anyone who knew Dickie knew he made friends every place he went, but there are too many to list. "Murph Man's" partner in crime, Stuart Brooks, held a special place in his heart.
Dickie retired from Bangor Hydro in 1994. He enjoyed his retirement years camping, woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Josh Bridges and the Alzheimer's team at Acadia Hospital, as well as Dr. Ken Nadeau.
Family and friends are invited to call from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a memorial service with military honors will be held at 3 p.m., with Rev. Bruce Stevens of Old Town Baptist Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, please remember Dickie's life by paying a good deed forward, helping a neighbor, or making a new friend.
