Raymond Dean 'Ray' Stevens

September 20, 1946 - July 27, 2018

Chapman If you didn't know Ray... you truly missed out.
Raymond Dean 'Ray' Stevens, age 71, of Chapman, Maine passed away on July 27, 2018.
Ray was born in Presque Isle, ME, on September 20, 1946. He spent most of his life around these parts. Ray was a veteran of the Vietnam War and worked for the Civil Service as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic as a part of the Minuteman Missiles (FMMS). He also owned his own repair shop. Most recently, Ray would have been found puttering around and fixing things for his friends and for his family. Ray loved fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and spinning a yarn with anyone who would listen.
Ray loved his daughters, Deanna Keats and Tammy Timms. Deanna and her husband, John Keats, reside in the Catskills in NY. Tammy and her husband, Matthew Timms, reside in the Emerald Coast in Florida. Believe it or not, he loved his sons-in-law too; lucky for them.
Ray's grandchildren stole his heart. Grandsons, Jonathan Keats and Jonas Cantey, granddaughters, Shiloh Cantey and Jordyne Timms, gave him such joy in life. Ray even has a great-grandson, Rocky Keats, who will only get to hear the remarkable stories. Let's not forget his dog "Midge," who was his faithful sidekick. Ray also has two surviving brothers, Phillip Stevens and his wife, Joan, of Oklahoma and Richard Stevens and his wife, Joan, of Presque Isle; and several nieces and nephews.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Aubrey Stevens; and brother, Hazen Stevens, which was his best friend in life.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Northern Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Caribou. Nathan Gardner, Pastor of the Christian Advent Church of Mapleton, will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org. Dad, we will always carry your love in our hearts.
Ray's request to bury him with his butt sticking out so everyone can "kiss it" has been rescinded, as he was cremated.
