Ralph's Story

SAN ANGELO, TX AND BREWER - Ralph A. "Pumpy" Spencer passed away March 31, 2016, after a long illness. He was born June 25, 1945, in Bangor.

Ralph grew up in Brewer working on the family farm until he entered the U.S. Marine Corps and went to war to serve his country. Ralph was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, serving two tours of duty with distinction. A humble solider, he was awarded several medals for his service.

Ralph loved working in a small vegetable garden and playing pool, but nothing could come close to his sweet El Camino.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph A. and Marie Lucille (Albert) Spencer; and his brother, Reginald Spencer. He is survived by his sister, Verna Nelson and her husband, Ray; his sister, Donna Redman and her husband, Gerald; a brother, Robert Spencer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ralph is also survived by his three step-children, Greg Allen, Clifford Allen and Amy Bubar.

Ralph was buried in Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, Texas on April 12, 2016, with full military honors.
