HOLLIS and PHOENIX, Ariz. - Philip D. Romprey, 59, passed away unexpectedly March 28, 2016. Phil was born on Nov. 27, 1956, the son of Dean O. and Rita (Skillins) Romprey of Hollis.
Phil enlisted in the Army and served in the 82nd Airborne from 1973 to 1976. Phil was proud to be a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W. for more than 34 years, which he considered his biggest accomplishment.
In addition to his father, Phil was predeceased by his infant granddaughter, Isabella Marie Romprey; and a grandson, Jason McNeilly; and his favorite aunt, Edna (Skillins) Walker. He is survived by his mother, Rita (Skillins) Romprey of Buxton; his sons, Dean R. Romprey and wife, Jennifer, of Fort Wayne, Ind., Keith Romprey and wife, Darcie, and their sons, Gabriel and Derick, of Bangor; his best friend and the mother of his sons, Debra Wedge of Hampden; his daughter, Chrystal McNeilly and her sons, Matthew and Patrick of Buxton; and sisters, Catherine Bell and husband, William, of Hollis and Carol York of Buxton.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. May 12 at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
