- Pauline M. (Grant) Craft was born on Monday, February 4, 1935, in Cherryfield, Maine, to Morton Grant and Eunice Grant, their first child. Pauline was born on a chilly February day, she first warmed the heart of her parents. As Pauline would grow she would welcome a brother first, Donald, followed by her sister, Violet, a brother David, and the youngest of the Grant children - her youngest brother, Jim. Polly, as she was known to her friends and family, would often lead her brothers and sister with her indomitable spirit. She graduated from Cherryfield Academy in 1953, with her brother, Don. Polly would go on to Husson College, before joining the Air Force, where she would meet William Craft while in the Air Force in 1958, six weeks later Polly and Bill would marry. Polly lived life with incredible love for life, when her heart connected with the man she loved and would love forever. Before the year ended Polly would give birth to their first child, Deborah, on November 3, 1959. A few years later Polly and Bill would welcome a daughter, Mary Anne, on January 16, 1961. Their first son, Burton, on May 9, 1964, a second son, Robert, on December 11, 1965, followed by William, Jr., on June 20, 1967. Polly raised her family to love life and embrace the quiet time. Never to be discouraged by life's setbacks and to believe in themselves.
Polly has joined her mother, father; brother, David; husband and daughters in God's Kingdom. Her brother, Donald, lives in Orono; her sister, Violet, her best friend, lives in Cherryfield, with her husband, Norris, and their son, Mike, their son, Steven, lives in Machias with his family.
