Paula Ann Brandt

June 05, 1954 - February 04, 2019

Sullivan - Paula Ann (Day) Brandt, 64, peacefully passed away at her home in Sullivan surrounded by her loved ones on February 4, 2019. Paula was born on June 5, 1954 in Bar Harbor, ME, to her mother Hilda (Johnson) Day, and her father Harry Day.

Paula attended Sumner Memorial High School. After graduation she went on to receive her CNA at Kennebec Valley Vocational Tech. School. Paula worked for many years as a CNA in both Maine and Michigan. Years later, Paula started her own house cleaning business, then eventually worked for many years at The Log Cabin Restaurant in Hulls Cove.

Paula was a lifelong member of the Ashville Community Church, as well as a member of the John Dority Grange. One of Paula's favorite things to do was making handmade dreamcatchers while watching General Hospital. Paula was loved by so many, and her heart was always willing to love without question.

Besides being a mother to her daughter, Charlotte, Paula was a mother to many others. A few of those people she called her 'kids' are, Sarah Jordan-McLain, Andrew Fisher and his husband, Matthew Cole, Melissa Miller Wolfe and her husband Jeffrey Wolfe. Paula had some very special friends that she thought of as her family, Lynne Witham, Jennifer Johnson, Vernon Campbell, and Jeanne Willey.

Paula once told a friend that the two greatest moments in her life was having her daughter, Charlotte, and finding her soulmate, Dan Brandt. Paula and Dan lived a wonderful and quiet life together for many years in their home in Sullivan. They were blessed to have so many years together. Paula leaves behind her devoted daughter, Charlotte McLain, and her wife, Sarah Jordan-McLain of Sullivan. Paula also leaves behind several cousins, and countless friends. Paula will be missed so much by her two 'furry kids', Molly and Baby. Paula was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dan Brandt; her parents, Hilda (Johnson) Day and Harry Day; her two siblings, Leroy and Beverly; as well as several aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 4:00pm at the Solid Rock Bible Baptist Church at 769 South Gouldsboro, ME. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Simpson cemetery in Sullivan, ME.

Paula was an extraordinary person. No matter the struggles she faced in her life, and there were many, she kept a positive attitude. She always found something to enjoy and laugh about in life, and loved with her whole heart. What a strong and vibrant soul. We were all blessed to know and love her in this lifetime. She will be sorely missed until we see her again.

Paula & I have been friends since we were kids. Such a good person, never bothering anyone, just a phone call away even though we had gone our separate ways. RIP Paula, your struggle is over.
