- Paul A. Cook, 82, went home to be with his Lord on January 6, 2018, at Stillwater Health Care in Bangor, surrounded by his family. He was born in Skowhegan on November 9, 1935, a son of Victor and Leona (Allen) Cook.
He worked for many years for Hardwood Products Company in Guilford, retiring in 1999. Paul enjoyed several retirement years driving school bus for John T. Cyr & Sons in Bangor. He was also an active member in many areas of the Charleston Church, and was an avid Red Sox fan.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara (Clukey) Cook in 2008; stepdaughters, Michelle Gould and Frances Peachey; stepson, Allen Gould; sister, Virginia McKenney; and a brother, Richard Cook.
He is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Annette and Louis Babcock of Sullivan, Faylene and James Wilson of Dexter, and Holly and Jerry Zellner of Pittsfield; stepson, Michael Gould and fiancée, Gail Nelson of Ripley; a very special granddaughter, Stacy Gould Green and her husband, James, and great-grandson, Jimmy, of Etna, with whom Paul lived his final years; brothers, Norman Cook and his wife, Cordelia, of Skowhegan; three sisters, Margaret LaFlamme of Brunswick, Eleanor Hart of Brewer, and Ruth MacDougall of Dexter; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Stillwater Health Care for their loving care during Paul's stay.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Charleston Church, P.O. Box 179, Charleston, ME 04422 or to the Safe Place Community Center.
