Norma 'Sally''s Story
- Norma 'Sally' (Reynolds) Paradis passed away at her home in Old Town on January 20, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Sally graduated from Old Town High School in 1954. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Paradis, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Old Town on September 8, 1956. They were married 54 years when he passed away. Sally went to work at the University of Maine as a secretary following her graduation and worked there until her first child was born in 1958.
She was then a stay at home mom until the youngest of her five children started school in 1970.
At that time she went to work at the Lewis Stairs School as a noon-time supervisor for a year.
In 1971 she went to work at the Superintendent of Schools Office in Old Town as a Payroll Personnel Secretary where she worked until her retirement in 1997.
She was very active in the Lewis Stairs PTC, was a Cub Scout den mother and a Brownie leader.
Following her retirement, she spent many years doing genealogy. She and Ray loved attending music, sports, and special events of their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting,
making cards on the computer, reading, and watching the Red Sox and Patriots games. Most of all she loved all the special occasions, and holidays when her family was all together, especially the 4th of July at her family cottage at Chemo Pond.
