Nita's Story

DETROIT AND EXETER - Nita Y. Elkins, 75, the wife of the late Ralph H. Elkins, died comfortably at her daughters home in Exeter after a long battle with several illnesses, with her son, Archie, her daughter, Mary and her granddaughter Zita holding her hand. She was born July 5, 1939 in Gardiner, the daughter of Guy and Nellie (Bagley) Wakefield. She was a member of the Mormon Church in Newport and had worked at several shoe shops, Eastland Woolen Mill and as a salesperson for Party Plans. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and meeting new people.

She is survived by three sons, Charles Maloon and Patrick Maloon and his wife, Melanie, all of Parkman and Archie Maloon and his fiancée, Rachel of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter, Mary Wright of Exeter; a sister, Rita Call and her husband, Clarence of CA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Nita has gone home to be with her husband and son, Guy Maloon.

Graveside funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Pingree Cemetery in Parkman. Friends and family are invited to gather at Archie's home in Dover-Foxcroft following the service. Arrangements are in care of the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.
