- Nancy Mills (Dawe) Tebbetts, 93, peacefully passed away on January 20, 2018, after a brief illness. She was born April 5, 1924, in Salem, Massachusetts, to Harold and Alice Edna (Mills) Dawe.
Nancy graduated in June 1941, from Medford High School in Massachusetts, and went to work at the John Hancock Life Insurance Co. for three years before enlisting in the U.S. Naval Air Force, at age 20, in 1944. Nancy taught British and American pilots navigational skills, and fixed and free gunnery skills. In the spring 1945, while stationed at Sanford Naval Airbase in Sanford, Maine, she met the love of her life, Marine Robert Tebbetts. They were married on June 23, 1945, and enjoyed a wonderful life for 56 years, until Bob passed in August 2001. They will be reunited in a cremation companion urn upon burial. Nancy enjoyed and accomplished many good things during her lifetime. She was a marvelous soprano lead singer in several church choirs, a good substitute teacher, real estate agent, and jewelry salesperson. She was an avid knitter, seamstress, home maker, and loved doing antiques and collectibles with her daughter.

Dawe and his wife, Jane, in Florida; five grandchildren, Kris McElman and her husband, Ron, Angela L. Tebbetts and William A. Tebbetts and his wife, Amanda, all living in Massachusetts, Sarah R. Sorg of Bangor and Robert L. Sorg also of Bangor; five great-grandchildren, Aydan and Kaysen Sorg, Dylan, Shae Marie and Colton Tebbetts; a very special niece, Joan M.
