- Maynard was an avid outdoorsman who passed away after an ATV accident. He died doing what he loved.
He grew up in Old Town and resided in Corinna, Maine. He was a retired brick mason and a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the Central Maine Trailblazers and Corundal Riders, continually working on trails with the clubs. He loved to hunt, work on cars, and go to car shows with his antique truck.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Stankevitz, two children: Ryan Stankevitz and wife Michelle, April Mckinney and husband Brandon, Nephew who he considered a son, Eddie "Fuzzy" Cyr. "Adopted" children Mike Pitcher and Nancy Hartsgrove. Five grandchildren: Alyssa, Dylan, Zoe, Zen and Finn. Siblings: Ethel and Dick Cyr, Richard Crosby. Best Friend Dennis Nelson and too many other friends too list.
He was predeceased by his parents Elbridge and Bertha Crosby, siblings: Cecil "Bing", Daureen, Eugene, Clarence and Robert.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held at the home of Maynard & Bev on 6-3-17 from 12 - 5 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Central Maine Trailblazers in his honor at PO Box 403, Corinna, ME 04928. Maynard spent many hours working and riding on the trails and he would want that to continue for others.
