CORINTH - Maurice Godin, 72, the husband of Dolores (Ouellette) Godin, died at his home May 15, 2016. He was born April 30, 1944 at Lewiston, the son of Gilbert and Regina (Theriault) Godin.
He spent his early years growing up in Fort Kent. He worked as a self employed carpenter and was President of Godin Associates with his brother Roger for 35 years. He also sold and installed metal framing and sheetrock. He had also been a member of Local Union #24 in CT and served in the National Guard in 1964. Maurice loved to play his guitar and sing country music, go hunting and fishing and his gardens. He loved playing with his grandchildren and other children and had a big love for cats and dogs, especially his cats, Princess and Button.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years are his two sons, Dion T. Godin of Corinth and Kevin Godin of Bangor; two grandchildren, Kevin Jr. of Corinth and Kyle D. Godin of Bangor; his siblings, Kathleen and husband, Thomas Martin of Plainville, CT, Madeline Soniner of Plainville, CT, Albertine Picard of Enfield, CT, Gilbert Godin Jr. and wife, Arlene of Lebanon, Roger Godin and Maryann of Lebanon, Bert and Yvonne Godin, Phillip and Laura Godin, Patrick and Laurie Godin, Rodney and Arlene Godin, all of Lebanon, David Godin of Bristol, CT, Glenda and Roy Chamberlain of Lebanon, Allen and Brenda Godin of Plainville, CT and Darlene Ouellette of Lebanon; several nieces, nephews and friends. Maurice was predeceased by a brother Gilman, a brother Melvin, a sister, Rena and her husband Don Tardiff, a brother Hubert and a sister, Geraldine Saucier.
Friends may call at the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, Thursday from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will held 10 AM Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ohio St, Bangor.
