LYNN HAVEN - Mary Davis Clifford (Gooding) peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday June 29, 2014. A devoted mom and grandmother, Mary loved to cook, care for her dog, Maddie, and was an avid crafter. She grew up in Bangor, Maine but spent the last decade in Panama City, Florida.
Mary was born on September 13, 1947, to Ernest A. Gooding, Jr. and Alice M. Macleod in Arlington, Mass. A graduate of Bangor (ME) High School (65) and Husson College (68), Mary moved to Unity, Maine after marrying Gregory L. Clifford, who precedes her in death. They raised three children. Mary was the office manager at Gronseth Directory Service in Augusta, Maine before co-founding Unity Service Company. She was also a past president of Unity Rotary.
Mary will be dearly missed by her loving family including her daughter and son-in-law Leslie and Matthew Plunkett of Ayer, MA; daughter and son-in-law Allison and Greg Morrill of Upton, Mass.; son Bert Clifford of Panama City, FL.; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Mayra Gooding of Santa Rosa Beach, FL., Dr. John and Teresa Gooding of Panama City Beach, FL, Dr. Daniel and Katherine Gooding of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Maxwell, Bennet and Charlie Morrill; Jonathan and Ellison Plunkett; and Alexis and Nicholas Clifford, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Mary will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Bangor, Maine.
