FORT KENT - Mary Mae Charette, 95, died peacefully June 13, 2015 surrounded by family at a Fort Kent Health Care Facility. She was born in St. Francis October 4, 1919 the daughter of Docite and Mathilda (Pelletier) Thibodeau.
Mary Mae worked 24 and half years as a clerk for Grant's Store until her retirement in 1976. She enjoyed knitting, picking berries and taking care of her lawn, she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Bernard H. Charette in 2003. She is survived by her son Donald and his wife Winnifred Charette of Fort Kent. Her daughter Bernadine Cyr of St. David, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, her sister, Velma Nadeau of St. Francis, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by two brothers; Maurice and Elmer Thibodeau, three sisters; Melinda Blair, Francis Roy, and Maggie Paradis. one son-in-law, Robert L. Cyr, grandson Michael Cyr and great-grandson Robert Cyr.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 17, from 9 to 11 am at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11 am at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will follow in the parish cemetery.
