- Mary L. Beal, 83, passed away peacefully September 3, 2017, after a long battle with dementia. She was born in Milford, March 16, 1934, the daughter of Otis J. and Antoinette M. (Hamel) Delaware.
Mary was a homemaker who raised five children along with her beloved husband, Lloyd. She loved to knit, making mittens for her family every Christmas. Mary enjoyed cooking and would can vegetables and fruit each year. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren; and loved spending summers with Lloyd at their camp on Upper Dobsis Lake.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd George Beal, Jr.; and two brothers, Sonny Delaware and his wife, Cathy, and Edward Delaware. Mary is survived by her children, Lloyd Beal and wife, Wanda, Audrey Page and husband, Rick, Otis Beal, Alison Bragg and husband, Dale, and Randy Beal and wife, Laurie; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Sterling Delaware and wife, Judy; sister-in-law, Ann Delaware; special friends, Valerie Buchanan and Claire Guay; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Westgate for the loving care given to Mary during her stay.
Graveside committal prayers will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Milford Cemetery in Milford. Those who wish to remember Mary in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 383 US Route One #2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
