- Marion Kennedy, 96, passed peacefully on March 5, 2018. She was born on August 24, 1921, in Medford, MA. She was educated in the Medford schools and took courses to be a legal secretary. Following her mother's death when Marion was 18, she worked as a seamstress at a dress factory during the war until she married Howard Kennedy. They moved to Stetson in 1953 and Marion to Exeter in 2005.
Marion had many jobs after her husband Howard died in 1967. She was employed as substitute postmaster and teacher, restaurant worker, and in the school lunch program. Marion's favorite job was her small family farm in Stetson and raising her children.
She leaves behind her son, John and wife, Edna Kennedy, and their daughter, Erin and husband, Jonathan; her daughter, Linda and husband, Elliotte Austin, and their daughter, Charleen and husband, Java, and their son, Nathan; four other grandsons, Roy, Micheal and Bobby Kennedy, and Danny DeGroff; granddaughter, Cathy and husband, Jay Horowitz; several great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Howard and Micheal; a daughter, Marion; three brothers, Richard, Ray, and Harold; and a sister, Elinor.
In lieu of flowers, Marion would request you do a kindness for an elderly person or child in need; or donate to your local food bank.
