MAPLETON - Marilyn Jean Tardie, 81, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014 after a short illness. Marilyn was born September 11, 1933, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Earl and Madalyn (Rediker) Buchanan.
She worked as a seamstress for many years and especially loved spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of the State Street Baptist Church.
Jean is survived by her children and their spouses; Steven and Laurie of Presque Isle, Andrew and Roxanne of Ashland, Susan and Kevin Sjoberg of Presque Isle, her grandchildren; Iva Tardie, Emily, Jacob, and Faith Sjoberg, Fallyn and Olivia Tardie, and Ashley Disy, and a great grandson; Xander. She will also be missed by her brother, Philip Buchanan of Presque Isle and several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Davis C. Tardie, and her three sisters; Patricia Buchanan, Delores Raymond and Marjorie Bishop.
Friends and family may call Wednesday, November 26, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle. A funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, November 28 at State Street Baptist Church, Rev. Buck Booker officiating.
