Falmouth - Marilyn R. Hodsdon, 86, of Falmouth passed away on Thursday March 16th at her residence.
She was born on December 23, 1930 in White Plains, NY the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Murphy) Fournier. Marilyn grew up in Milford, CT and graduated from South Portland High School. She married Philip E. Hodsdon on August 28, 1954 and together they raised their family of four children in Hermon.
Marilyn worked in the insurance and law industry as a secretary for Drummond & Drummond Law Firm, as well as, Russell Patton Insurance Agency until her retirement. For 30 years she participated in the Tea Cup Bowling League in Bangor and was a 20 year veteran of the Y Players Acting Group raising money for the local YWCA. She loved to travel and made several memorable trips. Her favorites were traveling to Ireland, Paris and London. She was very creative when it came to crafting, doing ceramics and sewing. Her grandchildren were her passion. She loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her husband Philip of 62 years, 4 children Randolph and his wife Denise Hodsdon of Portland, Bruce and his wife Susan Hodsdon of South Carolina, Cheryl and her husband William Hunt of Portland, and Barry Hodsdon of Gray; 8 grandchildren Jason, Heather, Brandon, Jessica, Hunter, Carson, Cassidy, and Meredith; 1 great grandson Wesley; siblings Lawrence and his wife Mary Lou Fournier of Arizona, Ronald and his wife Patricia Fournier of New York, Sharon and her husband Michael Hostetter of Connecticut. Special aunt, Audrey Carollo of New York. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.
The family invites you to attend visiting hours on March 25th from 11:00am to 1:00pm followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00pm at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St, Portland, ME.
