Margaret's Story

MILO - Margaret Frances Keef, 97, wife of the late Bernard C. Keef, passed away November 29, 2015, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born May 26, 1918, in McAdam, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Franklin John Lee and Arnette (Coulter) Calnan Lee.

She completed her R.N. training in Kingston, Ontario, and worked in her hometown of McAdam, New Brunswick. After moving to Milo, she worked as Dr. John B. Curtis' office nurse in Milo and then at Milo Community Hospital.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, in 1994. She is survived by a son, Laurence and his wife, Linda (Horne) Keef of Milo; two daughters, Marissa "MaryJane" Mackles of Florida, and Patricia "Pat" Steinburg of Connecticut; and several grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hibbard Nursing Home for their compassionate care for Margaret while she was there.
