Lucille's Story

MADAWASKA - Lucille M. Michaud Carrier died on June 30, 2015 at Madawaska health care facility at the age of 87. She was born in Frenchville on April 29, 1928, the daughter of Belonie and Lottie (Marquis) Michaud.

She was predeceased by her husbands James Cheevers and Donald Carrier.

Lucille was very well known to the greater Madawaska community for her infectious laugh and her love of telling a good joke as she waitressed at various local restaurants and made her rounds as "Bonne femme Avon." She loved dancing at the Senior Center, knitting "bas de laines" and playing cards with everyone she could.

She is survived by her children Judy and her husband George Pelletier of St. David; Rick Cheevers and his wife Mary of Connecticut; Sherry and her husband Leo of Grand Isle; Sharon and her husband Woody Newell of Delaware; Diane (Northup) Picard and her friend Fern Roussel of Madawaska; and Gerald and his wife Claudette Northup of Madawaska. Lucille was Memere Cheevers to 12 grandchildren and 14 great grand-children.

At the discretion of her family, a graveside memorial will be held to celebrate the life of Lucille Carrier at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home. For online condolences, please visit Lajoie Funeral Home.
