Lowell's Story

FORT KENT AND ST. FRANCIS - Lowell M. Guerrette, 62, died accidentally Friday May 29, 2015 at his Fort Kent residence. He was born September 19, 1952 in Eagle Lake, Maine the oldest son of Marcial and Hilda (Jandreau) Guerrette.

Lowell worked many jobs during the course of his life, but his most cherished work memories were driving truck. His labor of love was working at his home doing various projects and yard work. He had an untiring work ethic, and took the utmost pride in everything he did. He greatly enjoyed four wheeling with his wife and grandchildren looking for wildlife. Lowell will be fondly remembered for altruistically helping his friends and neighbors.

Lowell volunteered throughout his life to better his community and church. Amongst his many activities, he was former constable, firefighter, and moderator of the town of St. Francis, president of the St. Francis Snowmobile Club, member of the Parish Council of the St. Charles Catholic Church, and was a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

Lowell is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Alethea (Pelletier) Guerrette. He is survived by three children; Michael Abbott and fiancée Kimberly of St. Francis, Stewart Abbott and wife Melissa of Waxhaw, North Carolina, and Leslie Guerrette and husband Nick of Gray. Three grandchildren; Trey Paradis, Callie and Aries Plourde. Mother Hilda Guerrette of Fort Kent. Two sisters; Marsha and husband Arnold Pelletier of St. Francis, and Gaetane Blair of Newport. Sister-in-law Marie and husband Keith Hartt of St. Francis. Brother-in-law Charles Pelletier of Bangor, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Marcial Guerrette, brother Lionel Guerrette, parents-in-law Claude and Marion Pelletier, sister-in-law Sherry Pelletier, and brother-in-law Robert Blair.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m Thursday, June 4, at the St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis with a luncheon following the service in the basement of the church. Those who wish to donate may do so in Lowell's memory to the charity of their choice.
