PATTEN - On Nov. 9, 2014, Lois Madeline Pelkey while at her home went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born Feb. 16, 1926 in Patten, the daughter of William Lester and Emma (Cunningham) Webster.
Lois worked for 30plus years at the Patten Nursing Home. She loved her patients and formed many lasting friendships. Lois was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She will be remembered by her family for her delicious pies, cookies and homemade breads. Lois enjoyed spending time with her family and especially caring for her grandchildren. She will be missed by many. Since losing her beloved husband, Ken, Lois looked forward to her Thursday visits from her nephews, Rodney Grass and Gary Pyle. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Hassan Abouleish and the staff and volunteers of Hospice of Aroostook.
Lois is survived by her three children, Kenny Pelkey and his wife, Beth of Stacyville, Becky Cullen and her husband, Jerry of Patten, Faith Rickards and her husband, Albert of Patten; her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Pelkey, Sr. and her daughter, Cindy Carver.
Friends may call at the Patten Pentecostal Church, Saturday 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Frank Randall officiating. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
