Lois's Story

BRUNSWICK - Lois Edith "Mimi" Crawford (Gordon), 67 years old, passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Monday, May 30th 2016 at the Brunswick Mid Coast Hospital. Her valiant fight against breast cancer, which began in 2013, went into remission and returned in December 2015. Her strong will to live, her unwavering faith in the Lord, continuous love and prayers from her family, friends and her many Facebook Prayer Warriors carried her through her six month battle.

Lois was born May 24, 1949 in Dexter, Maine. She is predeceased by her parents, Donald and Hazel Gordon.

Lois graduated from Dexter High school in 1967 and later obtained an art degree at UMA. In 1970 she was married and moved to Topsham, Maine where she raised her three daughters Heidi, Suzanne and Stephanie Osborne.

In 1985 she met James Crawford, the love of her life and soul mate who moved in next door from California with his two children, Scott and Shelley. They were married six months later and the two families became united.

Jim and Lois became one as they shared an undying love unfazed by any and all trials or tribulations they endured. They celebrated their 30th anniversary in February with family and friends by renewing their wedding vows.

Lois enjoyed art, as an artist and teacher, genealogy and photography. She enjoyed travelling with her husband and being with her family.

Lois is survived by her beloved husband, four daughters, Heidi, Suzanne, Stephanie and Shelley, and one son, Scott. She has been blessed with 9 grandchildren, Jeffrey Crawford, Nick Osborne, Samantha and Sarah Smith, Hannah Hamblin, Reilly and Cameron Rafford, Lauren and Ally Cohan and one great-grandchild Linda Crawford. She has a special niece, Liz Pereira, who was like a daughter. She also has two sisters and a brother.

There will be a celebration of life for Lois on Saturday June 4th at the Church of the Nazarene, 94 McKeen St., Brunswick at 1:30 followed by a service at 3:00. A fellowship with food and refreshments will follow in the church meeting hall.
