- Lloyd G. Rozelle, 90, went home to be with his Savior, Dec. 21, 2017, at Mayo Regional Hospital. He was born July 15, 1927 in Bradford, the son of Gerald and Edith (McAvey) Rozelle. He served in WW II with the U.S. Coast Guard and then graduated from the U. of M. and later earned his Master's degree from Luther Rice University. He worked in agriculture as a dairy farmer and as an agent of the U. of M. extension program. He worked selling heavy equipment for a number of years. He faithfully pastored at the Willimantic Community Church for 36 years. He served as President of the Maine Rural Missions for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Hanson) Rozelle, who has served faithfully along side him for 68 years. In addition his son David and wife, Joy, of Buford, GA, a daughter, Deanna Dauphinee and her husband Steven of Willimantic, ME, a sister, Virginia Hanson, of Sangerville, 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Eric, his grandson, Shane, a sister, Barbara, and daughter-in-law, Lenore.
The family wishes to the thank the staff at MRH for caring for him during his final days and to the CHCS nurse, Marcia Walden, who advocated for him until the end.
A memorial service will be held 2 PM Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Bradford Baptist Church. Those who wish may make donations to NBBI at East Hodgdon Bible Church ATN: NBBI Fund PO Box 828 Houlton, ME 04730-0828. Burial arrangements are in care of Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.
