Later in life Leslie worked for MSAD# 67 as a custodian, was a reserve police office for the town of Lincoln for 50 years; which was his greatest joy. Being the active individual that he was he also took on a rural postal mail route for many years. Leslie enjoyed the outdoors, watching his movies, and getting papers from the Lincoln News for family and friends.

The family also wants to thank Dr. Sarah Irving for her compassion towards the Family and Leslie. Dr. Irving was more than just his doctor, she was a friend. Leslie also leaves behind a very special friend, Bob Berg, who had a habit of selling Leslie guns, then trading to get them back, which was a joke between them.
