- Leslie E. Keith of Lincoln passed away at EMMC on December 7, 2017, after a short illness. Leslie was the son of Alvin and Eleanor (Strickland) Keith and was born March 18, 1934.
Leslie served in the U.S. Army in Germany after high school and also had a full career in the Maine Air National Guard (101st) in Bangor. Leslie worked in the Lincoln Paper Mill and became a foreman, before moving on to be become a superintendent at the Diamond International Mill in Old Town. Later in life Leslie worked for MSAD# 67 as a custodian, was a reserve police office for the town of Lincoln for 50 years; which was his greatest joy. Being the active individual that he was he also took on a rural postal mail route for many years. Leslie enjoyed the outdoors, watching his movies, and getting papers from the Lincoln News for family and friends.
Leslie was predeceased by his first wife, Kathleen Ann Ham; and daughter, Roberta. He is survived by his wife, Shelia (Cowen) Keith; his children, Robin (Dwight) Tilton, Elizabeth Stevens, Russell (Tanya) Keith, Carrie (Scott) Fogg, Scott (April) Irish and Patrick (Crystal) Irish. Leslie also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Raymond and Joshua Tilton, Kimberley Stevens, James Kimball, Hailey, Emily and Stephone Ross, Hannah, Landri and Braydon Irish. Leslie was also blessed with his great-grandchildren, Jackson, Lexie, Annabelle and Jonathan Tilton, Jasmine, Jessi, Victoria and Nadyia Kimball.
Leslie's family would like to thank the staff at Penobscot Valley Hospital and EMMC for making his last days as comfortable as possible. The family also wants to thank Dr. Sarah Irving for her compassion towards the Family and Leslie. Dr. Irving was more than just his doctor, she was a friend. Leslie also leaves behind a very special friend, Bob Berg, who had a habit of selling Leslie guns, then trading to get them back, which was a joke between them.
