Brownville Junction and Ellsworth
- Leonora Cota Boulanger, 97, of Brownsville Jct., Maine, passed away on November 23, 2017, at Seaport Village Healthcare, Ellsworth, ME.
Leonora was born in Winn, Maine, on April 5, 1920, to the late John and Catherine Coulombe Cota. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lawrence Boulanger; sister, Paulina Merritt; brothers, John and Paul Cota; grandsons, Steven Nadeau, Scott Nadeau, David Joyce and sons-in-laws, David Sailor and M. Harrison Joyce.
She is survived by five daughters, Paulina Joyce of Martinsville, VA, and Stockton Springs, ME; Nancy and Terry Stanley of Northeast Harbor, ME; Lauris Sailor of New Durham, NH, and North Fort Meyers, FL; Kathy Nadeau of Standish, ME, and Florence and Billy Smith of Martinsville, VA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters.
Leonora loved her large extended family and always had her special goodies ready when they visited. She shared all this comfort food with family, friends, neighbors and every bake sale that was held in town. She would walk her baked goods straight from the oven to the Methodist Church sales where folks were waiting for them to arrive. We have been truly blessed to have had her, with all her love and thoughtfulness, in our lives all these years.
A very special thank you to all of the staff at Seaport Village for the love and care that helped Mom's last days be happy and comfortable.
Private services will be held at a later date. Friends who wish to do so may make a donation to the charity of their choice.
