Leo's Story

CORINNA & DEXTER - Leo Joseph Richard, Jr., a.k.a. Buddy, 63, went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2015 at home surrounded by his family and many loved ones.

He was born December 23, 1951 in Lewiston, a son of Leo and Beatrice (LePage) Richard. He attended Dexter schools and served in the U. S. Army for 20 years, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. He worked for many years at Dexter Shoe Company, FayScott, and recently retired from GE Power Systems in Bangor. "Pepe" as he was affectionately known, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed BBQ's with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. His kindness and compassion was never ending, always putting the needs of others first. His family meant the world to him and he will be loved and deeply missed by many.

In addition to his mother, he leaves behind his best friend and wife of 42 years, Fay (Page) whom he adored; five sons, Leo Richard III and wife Barb, and their children Emily and Wyatt; Joshua Richard and wife Cindy, and their children Emily, Katrina, Jacob and Jamilyn; Moses Richard and wife Shannon, and their children Tyler, Daniel, Lexi,n and Kade; Noah Richard and wife Shawna, and their children Coty and wife Lindsey, and son Kraiden, Dustin and fiancé Trista; Matthew and wife Becky, and their children Zain, Jocelyn and Olivia; and a very special nephew, Jesse Curtis, whom he loved like a son; sisters Ann Bragg and husband Jim, Holly Wyman, Jane Weeks and husband Dean, and Mary Richard-Garrison and husband Bruce; brothers Albert Richard and wife Charlotte, Dale Richard and wife Donna, and Arthur Richard and wife Peggy; many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his father Leo Joseph Richard, Sr.

A barbecue and celebration of his life will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, October 3rd, at his home at 84 Sunken Bridge Road, Corinna, on Half Moon Pond.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children's Miracle Network or to a local food pantry.
