- Kenneth Melvin Doak, Sr., 83, died peacefully August 15, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 20, 1932 in Oxbow, son of Roy and Mary (Goss) Doak.
Kenneth was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired DOT foreman employed at the Carmel office. He was a member of the Eagles Club, the NRA and a proud holder of a pilot's license.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Doris Doak; a daughter, Sharon Perkins; grandchildren, Mark Lloyd and his wife, Melissa, Patrick Doak and his wife, Laura, Paul Doak and his wife, Jacqueline, Amie Doak and Melanie Doak; 12 great-grandchildren. He was especially close with his 2 great-granddaughters, Kyla and Kenzie Lloyd. He is also survived by an identical twin brother, Keith Doak and his wife, Shirley and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Doak, Jr. and an older brother, Vernon Doak. The family deeply appreciates the love, care and compassion of his granddaughter-in-law, Melissa and would like to thank two of the Hospice nurses, Ily and Connie for their compassion at the end of his life.
A graveside service will be held 11 am Friday, August 19, 2016 at Woodlawn Cemetery, North Main Street, Brewer with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of the Hermon Baptist Church, officiating. A service of the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main Street, Brewer.
