- Kathryn Lila (Stevens) Crocker, 89, died June 22, 2017, at Cummings Healthcare Facility in Howland. Kay was born May 16, 1928, in Lee, the daughter of S. Clifton "Chip" and Pauline (Pickering) Stevens.
Kay married Arthur Crocker in March 1947. They were married 64 years until his death in 2011. Kay and Arthur made their home in Lincoln, raising their family on Highland Avenue. Kay was ALWAYS busy and involved with community and family. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, ceramics, tole painting, and cake decorating, to name a few of her hobbies.
Kay was involved with the Lincoln Maine Federal Credit Union since its inception in 1960. She was also involved with Lee Academy and the Alumni Association, Lee Historical Society and enjoyed working on genealogy (30 plus that she put together). She wrote several books documenting family history, helped get the Town of Lee vital stats printed and updated and documented stones in six towns. Kay was always busy doing something and more often than not managed to involve family and friends in her various "projects".
Kay is survived by her children Carol Marino, Diane Whitney, Karla Rutherford and Garry, and Kevin; grandchildren Donna Bard and Mike, Darren Whitney and Deena, Jason Millett, Lee Millett and Matt Fish; great-grandchildren JR, Leo, Caitlyn, Nickolas, Kaylee and Andrew; sister, Dorothy Thompson and brother Lloyd Stevens and Janice; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Kay was predeceased by sons-in-law, Paul Marino and Dan Whitney.
Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Private interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lee.
