Joshua Leo Arasate Doucette

June 06, 1975 - October 28, 2018

Old Town Joshua passed away after a brave three-year battle with cancer on October 28th with his wife Jessica Lee Doucette, and their son Brodi at his side. Joshua was born on June 6, 1975; the son of Janet and Cyril "Fran" Arasate Doucette. Joshua enjoyed many sports which included snowboarding, fishing, archery, hunting, and paintball. He was known as one of the area's best drummers and played in many metal bands.
He was employed for a short time at LaBree's Bakery, as a painter for Sullivan's Automotive in Old Town for many years, and JSI in Milo, where he established many continuing friendships, and was lastly employed by Town Fair Tire in Bangor until his health declined.
Joshua is survived by his wife of twenty-three years Jessica, and sons Brodi and Markus, along
with his parents Jan and Fran; his sister Jillian Dupuis and her husband Chris, their daughters Carsyn and Mallory who lovingly referred to Joshua as Uncle Kitty; his sister Kristie, her partner Tom Larson and her children Jordan and Faith; sister-in-law, Jackie Lee; brothers-in-law Ricky
Lee and his fiancé Karen, their children Jordyn, Ethan and Lucas; Jamie Stoddard and his son Zane; his Grandmother, Bunny Gendreau; his mother-in-law Kathy Chaisson, and father-in-law Rick Lee; many aunts and uncles and cousins. He had an extended family in NH; SAS Merrimack
Valley Paintball, who gave him the tag name of "Grimm." They have named one of the field sections after him "Grimm Town." His team is named the "Silent Assassin Squad." He and his family have been loved and supported by this paintball family of sports men and women for
two years. Joshua will be deeply missed by his family and his many very close friends.
Joshua was predeceased by his grandparents Leo and Doris Doucette, Sixto Arasate, S. Andrew Dunn, Weymouth and Rita Nutter, and Leo Gendreau.
Many thanks to Dr Sheila Pascual M.D., Jan Pilotte FNP, and all the staff at Northern Lights EMMC Lafayette Family - Dana-Farber Cancer Center for their care and friendship, and EMMC Hospice for their support in Joshua's final days.
By Joshua's request, there will be no formal funeral. The family wishes to invite his community of family and friends to a Celebration of his life at the Old Town Elks Lodge 290 Fourth St. from 6 - 10 p.m. on Friday, November 9th, 2018.

Josh, you were and are my son in law. That makes you my son. I tank you so much for my grandson Brodi, I know how proud you are of him, as we all are.

You and I go go back to before you and Jesse started dating. We drank, we smoked, we hunted and fished. We raised hell and had a goid time.

We are family and that means everything. I love you, and I miss you as does JJ and Brenda.

Until we meet again, say hi and give hugs to all who have gone before us. We love you man. Keep on rocking

Jesse, Brodi and family, Please accept my most deepest condolences to you all. I remember having an in depth conversation with Josh one night at a benefit at the Elks Club. It was one of the best conversations I had ever had with an individual in that he poured his heart and feelings with me concerning his family and sickness. Josh will always look over you and guide you in your days to come. I pray that you gain strength throughout the upcoming days in knowing that he truly loved the people in his life as they have loved him. The only comfort that we have when we lose our loved ones is in knowing that they longer suffer and can be whole once again without the pain. It helps to have ...beautiful memories and I am sure that you have many of those Jesse. Love you and know that I am thinking of you and have been throughout Josh's journey.Read more

Well brother, I have been struggling to find the words and put them all in one place, I think I am still in total disbelief that you aren’t with us any longer, at least physically. The only thing I find comforting right now is knowing that you live on in spirit with all of us. I am really hopeful you are at peace and all of your mental and physical suffering has now subsided and you can be at ease. I’m sure you are in a better place now looking down over all of us that were lucky enough to be part of your life. You truly touched so many lives in your time with us, your time was cut far too short and I mourn for everyone who has lost you as part of their life, you were always a hard worke...r, always willing to help anyone no matter what and I thank you for all the help you gave to my family especially while I have been away. I always had comfort knowing we could call upon you anytime for anything and that just speaks for who you were. Always willing to help no matter what. Always bringing smiles an laughter to family gatherings, joking and putting smiles on our faces, we will be enjoying your memories for lifetimes but missing you every step of the way, wishing you were here to make more memories with us.
I love you and miss you, until we meet again, rest easy, throw lots of paint, beat some drums, and be sure to watch out for all of us.

Josh was my younger cousin an amazing young man, husband and most of all a Father. You will live forever in my heart and in the countless memories one the stands out is how I use to drive Josh crazy always asking him to play wipeout on the drums. We were kids but he would give me this look like are your nuts do know how hard that song ......but he always played it for me anyway I love you Josh until we see each other again ......
