Joseph's Story

CARMEL - Joseph (Joe) Wilcox, Sr. passed away on May 25, 2015 at Eastern Maine Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 82.

The son of the late Robert and Louise (Burrell) Wilcox, Joe was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts before adopting Maine as his home for the past 40 years.

Joe is survived by his brother, Samuel, of Randolph, Massachusetts. He will be remembered with love by his son Joseph, Jr. of Glenburn and his daughter Cynthia, and son-in-law, Richard McManus of Hingham, Massachusetts. He was the loving father of the late Andrew Wilcox of Randolph, and a devoted "Papa" to granddaughters Aimee and Rebecca McManus of Hingham.

Joe was predeceased by his sister Lucille (Stewart) and brothers Robert and George, all of Randolph, Massachusetts.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired Aircraft Engineer for Delta Airlines. He will be remembered for his devotion to the Red Sox and Patriots, as well as his passion for meteorology and the outdoors.
