BRADLEY - Our loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, Joseph Nelson Pelletier, 87, left this world to be with his daughter, Brenda, on February 10, 2016. He left us too soon, but will spend his eternity with all his loved ones in heaven. He was the son of Benoit and Maude (Dube) Pelletier from Canada, who settled on Treat & Webster Island in Old Town, in 1920.
Joseph was born in Old Town, Maine, on September 5, 1928, and attended St. Joseph School and belonged to St. Joseph's Parish in Old Town. He entered the Army in 1950 -1952, and was stationed in Germany. Dad was very proud serving his country and has several medals of service. He is a lifelong member the VFW and the Knights of Columbus, where he was 4th degree. After the service he went to work at Penobscot Shoe / Kagan-Lown and retired from Wolverine International as a machinist in Old Town. He traveled cross country after his retirement, visiting many states with his wife and brother, Bob and his wife, Ellen. For almost 50 decades, he and his family shared Christmas Eve at his sister, Florine and Harold Crocker's home, with all the Pelletier and Crocker clan. A tradition that still takes place. His passions were his family, photography and golfing. He was an avid golfer and he played for most of his adult life. He looked forward every year to his golfing trip with his "golf buddies," who would play in Canada and Northern Maine. It truly was a joy for him to take a week off with all of them and he took many, many pictures. He was featured in the Bangor Daily News for his hole-in-one at Hermon Meadows Golf Club. He loved taking pictures of all of his family at our family events. For many years he used to develop his own pictures in a dark room he had built. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. They brought him much joy.
Through all of Joseph's Health Issues, his wife Catherine, was by his side as caregiver and loving companion for 63 years. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Catherine (Boucher); his sister, Florine Crocker; his brother, Robert Pelletier and wife, Ellen; his daughter, Michelle and her husband, Gregory; sons, Alan and Mark; grandchildren, Jodi and husband, Andy, Todd and partner, Kacey, Sarah and partner, Anthony, and Josh; great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Aiden, Peyton, Kameron, Brooklynn and Addisyn; many Boucher relatives; and many nieces and nephews.
