Jolene's Story

KENDUSKEAG - Jolene Fay (Russell) Powell of Kenduskeag, died peacefully on April 2, 2016, at Mass General Hospital. She was born May 5, 1944, in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of Geraldine (Jacobs) and Ross Russell.

Jolene was a kind and generous person. She was a very talented artist, with a creative mind. She enjoyed drawing, painting, ceramics, porcelain dolls and various other crafts over the years. She had a true love for nature and enjoyed gardening, birds and other wildlife. She was active with local ATV clubs until her more recent years.

Jolene is survived by her husband and partner of 50 years, Milan Powell; their children and spouses, Rory Wood, Tonya (Powell) Mclaughlin, David Powell, Dawn (Powell) Lott and Greg Powell; grandchildren, Laurel, Emily, Jesse, Cody, Samantha, Shane, Brandi, Ashley, Chad and Justin; her sister, Sharon (Russell) McCormack; step-mother, Clara Russell and step-siblings.

She was predeceased by her mother, Geraldine (Jacobs); step-father, Lowell Rollin; her father, Ross Russell; and her brother-in-law, Nelson 'Red' McCormack.

Thank you to all medical providers that have cared for and monitored Jolene over many years, and a special thank you to the team at EMMC and Life Flight of Maine.

Family will have Committal at the cemetery in Wytopitlock at a later date.
