DIXMONT - John Lusignan Jr., 65, died unexpectedly May 14, 2016, at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was born October 2, 1950, in Providence, R.I., the son of Dorothy Norma (Gaffett) Lusignan and John Lusignan Sr.

John grew up in Exeter, RI, and graduated from North Kingstown High School, Class of 1968. He married the love of his life, Nancy Anderson in 1976. They had two children, Jason and Holly. John worked as a purchasing agent for E. Rosen/Schoolhouse Candy co. in Pawtucket, RI, until 1990 when he and his family moved to Dixmont, Maine. He then began a successful 26-year career as a sales consultant for Northeastern Log Homes, where he achieved "Salesman of the Year" several times. John was active in his church and was an on-call EMMC Palliative Care volunteer for 12 years. He was an avid painter and was a member of the Valley Arts Alliance and Bangor Arts Society. His works are displayed in both Eastern Maine Medical Center and Mass General Hospital. Despite his many accomplishments, his greatest achievement of all was his family. John was the very best husband and father that anyone could ever ask for.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by two sisters, Suzanne Dunham and Sandra David. Surviving in addition to his wife, Nancy (Anderson) Lusignan, are his son, Jason Lusignan; his daughter, Holly (Lusignan) Cough and her husband, Ryan; his mother, Dorothy (Gaffett) Lusignan; one brother, Richard Lusignan; three sisters, Linda Seitz, Debbie Femino and Becky Lusignan; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of a life well lived will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Dixmont United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joan DeSanctis officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments next door at the Louis Bussey Schoolhouse immediately following. Those who wish to remember John in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Dixmont United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 65, Dixmont, ME 04932, or EMMC Champion the Cure challenge.
