Eaton and Houlton
- Joanne S. Gray, 79, passed away on December 24, 2017, in Houlton. She was born at her home on August 19, 1938, in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York, the daughter of Joseph and Synnove (Larsen) Stevens.
Joanne graduated from Oyster Bay High School in 1956, went to Zion Bible Institute for a year before she married her husband, James Gray, on May 26, 1957. She worked alongside her husband in his businesses and also in the ministry, singing and playing the accordion at several churches across the US and Europe.
Her favorite job, from which she retired, was working in Home Health Care, doing what she loved best, taking care of people.
She is survived by her son, Maurice, and daughter-in-law, Christina, of Medway; her daughter, Corinne "Cricket" Mooers, and her "favorite" son-in-law, Calvin of Hodgdon; grandchildren, Seth and Vicki Mooers, Shasta and Adam Fitzpatrick, Joshua and Stephanie Gray, Ashley and Joshua Pelkey and Maurice "Bear" and Kasie Gray; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Paden, Chloe, Jocelyn, Savannah, Colton, Lyddie, Jaycie, Ryder, Keylie, Jack, Jarrytt, Hope and Jameson; her sister, Beverly Gray; her in-laws; several nieces and nephews and many friends, near and far. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, James Gray, and a brother, Irving Stevens.
Friends may call from 12-1 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Frank Godley officiating.
