BANGOR and FORT KENT - Jean Paul Pelletier 79, died peacefully May 31, 2016, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born in New Canada, on June 6, 1936, the son of Willie and Laura Pelletier.

Jean Paul served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a foreman for Great Northern Paper Co. for more than 20 years. He was an avid outdoors man. He was a member of the Fort Kent American Legion Martin-Klein Post #0133.

He is survived by his son, Andre and his wife, Deborah Pelletier; stepchildren, Erin and Benjamin Mabry, all of Berryville, Va.; and one sister, Jill Englert of Myrtle Beach, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Juliette (Bard) Pelletier, in 2009; two brothers, Romeo and Ronald Pelletier; and two sisters, Dolores and Odette Pelletier.

Friends may call Monday, June 6, 2016, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial with full military honors will be celebrated 10 a.m. June 6 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services with Military honors will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery, New Canada. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Martin-Klein, American Legion Post #0133, 411 West Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
