BASS HARBOR - Janice Lynn Kneiss Lepley Boschert, 72, died peacefully at her home in Bass Harbor on December 19. Lynn was born May 20, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA to Lois Lepley and Wesley Craig.

She attended elementary school there, middle school and high school in Elyria, OH and returned to Pittsburgh for training as a laboratory technician, where she was employed for several years before moving to Maine. She was employed by Maine Coast Memorial Hospital at its clinic in Gouldsboro and at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, residing in Hancock and Surry, before an injury ended her working career.

Lynn loved all animals, especially dogs and cats and all birds. In spite of her disability she developed a marked skill in photography, specializing in wild-life studies of such high quality that her name was well-recognized in the Mount Desert Island area, and her work was prized by collectors in Maine and beyond.

For several years, Lynn was employed as the property manager of the Centennial Homestead and Family Lighthouse in Bernard, owned by the Silverman family.

Lynn was predeceased by her parents, and her husband, Kenneth C. Boschert Sr. She is survived by her beloved caregiver, Deborah Wedge; longtime friends Rev. John MacDuffie and Irving Silverman, and a cousin, Roxana Lepley of California.

There will be no memorial services. Her ashes, along with those of her beloved pets Leo, Gus and Maggie, will be interred at Seal Cove, Swans Island, at a future date.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the Acadia Wildlife Foundation, P.O. Box 207, Mt. Desert ME 04660.
