Pittsfield - Jane D. Cianchette, 63, died on Saturday, April 29, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Pittsfield, after a courageous fight with cancer.
She was born on August 16, 1953, in Burnham, Maine, the daughter of James A. Rowell and Marjorie P. (Shakespeare) Rowell Morris. She graduated from Maine Central Institute with the class of 1971 and was the librarian at Warsaw for over twenty years. She was a member of the Sebasticook Valley Elks Lodge BPOE #2713 and was famous for her monthly birthday parties.
Jane was a very tough, determined and passionate woman. She always put others first and wore her heart on her sleeve. She was a terrific mom and absolutely loved her grand kids. She had a passion for her flower gardens and loved being out of doors enjoying the sunshine on her deck. Jane was very creative and liked wallpapering and painting her home. Listening and dancing to the old country songs, especially Johnny Cash, was another one of her favorite things to do. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and her forever smile will always be remembered.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Cianchette; children, Darcy Latham of Winslow and Thomas Falvey Jr and wife, Elizabeth, of Burnham; stepchildren, Nicole Adams and husband, David and Michael Cianchette and wife, Stacy Jo; grandchildren, Lanie, Myah, Ty and Fury; father, James Rowell of Farmington; sisters, Janet Nadeau and companion, Jim Towne, of Corinna and Trudy Vintinner and husband, Ray, of Pittsfield; "Bubbies", Mervin Rowell Sr and wife, Jackie, of Pittsfield and Earnie Rowell and wife, Jean, of St. Albans; her godchildren, Lyle Vintinner and Trey Vintinner; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends, too numerous to name.
She was predeceased by her mother, Marjorie Morris; her step dad, Edwin "Buddy Boy" Morris; the dad who raised her, Lyle Norton; and her sister, Shirley Anne Rowell.
The family would like to express their gratefulness to the Visiting Nurses of Bangor and to the Cancer Care Center in Brewer for their wonderful care.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Glenn Nichols officiating. A gathering will immediately follow at the Sebasticook Valley Elks Lodge, Middle Street in Pittsfield. All are welcome.
