Jacqueline's Story

MADAWASKA - Jacqueline M. Gendreau, 75, passed away surrounded by her loving family on December 24, 2015 at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born in Fort Kent on August 9, 1940, daughter of the late Albert and Verna (Desjardins) Voisine.

Jackie had a passion for quilting and knitting, always giving the things she made away to family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, and was well known for her sub sandwiches. She was a very generous, compassionate woman who loved spending time with her family. She took pride in being a homemaker and taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Jackie is survived by her beloved husband of fifty six years, Roger Gendreau of St. Agatha; four children, Dennis and his wife Ann of St. Agatha, Kenneth and his wife Brenda of Madawaska, Peter and his wife Suzanne of Prattville, AL, Nicole Chamberland and her husband Mark of St. Agatha; seven grandchildren, Adam Gendreau, Cherie Fontaine, Jesse Gendreau, Jacob Gendreau, Nathan Chamberland, Kyle Chamberland, and Emma Chamberland; two step grandchildren, Devin Michaud and Nicholas Sirois; five great grandchildren; seven siblings, Sylva Voisine and his wife Janet of Bristol, CT, Jerry Voisine of Enfield, CT, Donald Voisine and his wife Tammy of Terryville, CT, Gilda Madore and her husband John of Bristol, CT, Joella Trepanier and her husband Clement of Tifton, GA, Diane Slade and her husband Robert of Bristol, CT; several nieces and nephews; her special friend, Ginette Ouellette of St. David. She was predeceased by her brother, Gilman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Monday and from 9am until 9:45am on Tuesday.
