- Herbert Theodore Pelletier, 86, passed away after a brief illness on December 28, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born in Bradley on January 9, 1931, the son of Joseph and Delena (Guay) Pelletier.
Herb graduated from John Bapst and joined the Maine Air National Guard, where he was activated during the Korean Crisis. He went on to work for Penobscot Chemical Fiber as Quality Control, and then for 19 years as the Supply and Inventory Manager for the University of Maine, Orono. Eventually, Herb retired as manager of Gilman Electric.
Herb was very good with his hands and loved to tinker on various projects. He had a passion for mysteries and westerns; as well as watching the Patriots, Red Sox, and his favorite team to follow, the UConn women's basketball. He was a devoted family man and a loving husband.
Herb is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gloria (Moreau) Pelletier; his children, David Pelletier and wife, Pat, of W. Warwick, RI; Gary Pelletier and wife, Michelle, of Eddington; and Susan Hein and husband, Douglas, of Holden; grandchildren, Angela Delso and husband, Joseph, Holly Kidd and husband, Lucas, Ashley Michaud and husband, Kyle, Sari Palumbo and husband, Michael, Katy Hein and Jill Hein; great-grandchildren, Sara, Drew, Julia, Claire, Vincent, and Skylar. He is also survived by one sister, Ruth Ann Shorette and husband, Joel. In addition to his parents, Herb was predeceased by one brother and five sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2017, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 531 N. Main Street, Brewer, with a reception in the Parish Hall to follow. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Old Town, in the spring.
