Gloria Kandetzki

Searsport SEARSPORT - Gloria E. Kandetzki, "75 years young", of Searsport, died June 16, 2016 in Belfast , ME. Born in Bangor on Feb. 5, 1941, she was the daughter of Percy Badger and Althea (Condon) Gaudette. Gloria was raised by her beloved grandparents, Walter and Marjorie Condon and attended Ellsworth High School.

In 1959, Gloria married the love of her life, John in Ellsworth , ME. In addition to raising her two children, she worked as a Real Estate Broker, and then at Mr. Paperback until she retired. Quilting was a passion of Gloria's and she will be remembered for all the beautiful quilts she made. In addition to the quilts she made for loved ones, many of the quilts were donated to the Linus Project and other charities.

She is survived by her husband John, her daughter, Wendy Martin, one son, Kurt Kandetzki and his wife Dawn, her mother, Althea Gaudette, four grandchildren, Melissa Martin and her husband Hal Berman, James J. Martin, Kyle Kandetzki, and Kevin Kandetzki, three sisters, Joyce Ashmore and her husband Colby, Cheryl Sinclair and her husband Dan, and Norma Ware and her husband Dan, John's sister, Ruth Lelle and her husband Carl, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Gloria was predeceased by her father, step-father, Edward Gaudette, and two nephews, Robert Moran and Peter Lelle.

Gloria's family would like to thank everyone who visited, sent cards, flowers and gifts to her during her illness, they would also like to thank her doctors and 2nd floor nurses and staff at Waldo County General Hospital for the excellent care she received.

At the request of the deceased there will be no formal services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
