Gloria's Story

BLANCHARD - Gloria Z. Elliott, 88, died peacefully September 4, 2015, at her home in Blanchard, with friends and family at her side. She was born in Burnham, January 24, 1927, the daughter of Carroll and Iva (Dunton) McAllister.

She was an LPN for many years, helping others, always with a smile. She was a caring person with a smile for everyone that came through the door. She enjoyed fishing and camping, and especially visiting with friends. In recent years she enjoyed watching the birds in the feeders and loved riding in the jeep to camps at Hussey and Hatch Falls.

She is survived by her husband of 50 plus years, Frank W. Elliott of Blanchard; 2 brothers, Robert McAllister of Greenville and Roger McAllister and his companion, Nancy of Clinton; step-daughter, Annalee Libby and her husband, Mike of Blanchard; a sister-in-law, Elaine Grant of Blanchard; daughter-in-law, Veronica Reed of FL; grandsons, Robert and Ricky Reed of FL; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Bruce Reed.

A special thank you to Marsha, Sterling, Jim, Sue and Chris for all the help and support during Gloria's illness.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak Street in Guilford. Graveside services will be held. 11 AM, Wednesday, at the Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard.
