Glendon's Story

Text size

Groveland, FL - Glendon Keith 'G.K.' Faloon went on to his heavenly reward on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the age of 73. He lived a life fully devoted to his Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an outstanding spiritual leader in his family.
Glendon was born to the late Lloyd (George) and Mary Ellen Faloon in East Corinth, Maine, on July 12, 1944. He graduated from Central High School in East Corinth and furthered his education by graduating from Faith School of Theology in Brooklyn, Maine.
While attending the Charleston Pentecostal Church he met the love of his life, Maxine (Giles) Faloon, his wife of 53 years, whom he actively pursued even after a near-tragic "Dear John" letter. He later served as the associate pastor at CPC under Rev. Ronnie Libby.
Glendon and Maxine were blessed with three children - Lois, Judy, and Wesley - as well as five grandchildren - Megan, Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Seth, and Hailey. Always willing to listen without judgement, G.K. was a best friend and confidante to his children and grandchildren.
G.K. became an insurance salesman for Christian Mutual Life, earning many awards and recognition for outstanding performance. He was even called a "legend" in the industry. He later pastored Community Evangel Temple in Lincoln, Maine, for seven years before moving to Florida.
In the years that followed, he found a way to combine his passion for sales with his love for the ministry, partnering with his daughter, Lois, to found GK&L Investments, Inc. to help ministers with their retirement funds. Proverbs 18:16 says "A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men."
G.K. never met a stranger, always giving of himself to everyone he came in contact with. One of his favorite verses was, "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." (Galatians 6:10). Glendon was known for his joyful spirit, always smiling and laughing with family and friends. Generous beyond measure, he lived the scripture: "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done." (Proverbs 19:17)
Glendon is survived by his wife, Maxine (Giles) Faloon; daughters, Lois Faloon and Judy (Clayton) Langley, and son Wesley (Susan) Faloon; grandchildren Megan Langley (Joshua) Collier, Jonathan Langley, Kaitlyn, Seth, and Hailey Faloon; and brother, Elmer (Shannon) Faloon.
He was preceded by his parents, Lloyd "George" and Mary Ellen Faloon, and two brothers, Orin "Joe" and Galen Faloon.
Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. with a service immediately following at 1 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017, at Charleston Pentecostal Church, 185 Main Road, Charleston, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund in his honor. Donations can be mailed to Full Gospel Assembly of Mars Hill, PO Box 437, Mars Hill, ME (memo: GK Faloon Memorial) or online at www.gofundme.com/memorial-fund-for-gk-faloon.
