Glen "Skip"'s Story
- Glen 'Skip' Gamble McGary Jr. died after a courageous battle with cancer in Gainesville, Florida on Sunday, February 4th, 2018. He is survived by his son, Glen S. McGary of Portland, Maine, his daughter, Heather J. (McGary) Bowker of Eddington, Maine, his closest friends, Randy Thompson of Houlton, Maine and Alexander Lee Presnell of Hatch Bend, Florida, as well as many other beloved friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother and grandfather, Emmons and Dolly Faulkner, who raised him in Houlton, Maine. He nobly served in the Army's 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. A proud American he lived as a staunch supporter of our constitution and the Second Amendment. Skip loved motorcycles, hunting, fishing and camping. It has been said that "Skip was never boring" and now that he is gone our lives will never be as bright again. At Skip's request there will be no memorial services at this time choosing rather to have a summer internment in Linnaeus, Maine at a date and time that will be determined and published later.
