Marshfield - Gene Ellis Mallory, 85, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and son by his side on Friday, October 20th, 2016. He was born in Codyville, Maine on August 15th, 1931, the son of the late Lyle R. and Edna L. Mallory.
He graduated from Lee Academy in 1949. He went to work for the state of Maine Warden Service in 1954, until he retired as Lieutenant of Division "C" in 1982. He was awarded the Honor of Legendary Game Warden in 1999.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman,gardener and bird watcher. He loved reading and doing crossword puzzles.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Lyle R. Mallory; grandson, Mathew D. Stuart; stepson, Everett Demmons; and a step-grandson, Adam Dunhum.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary R. Mallory; daughters, Jeanne M. Stuart and husband, Stephen, Betty Jo Vane and husband, Paul; son, John A. Mallory and wife, Mary L.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lucas and daughters, Julia and Natalie Stuart, Brooke and children, Eliza and James Stuart, Melissa and children, Mason and Peyton Manankil, Mary C. and daughters, Jolie and Mila Kallio, Gene R. Mallory; step-children, Anna Girard, Linda Berg, Tammy Johnson; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Britannia and children, Summer, Autum, Lilianna, River Balyiant, Amissa Demmons and children, Jazmin Carver, Taylor Holmes, Milania Demmons, Donnie and son, Hunter Vane, Adrian and daughter, Brooklyn Vane, Keila Demmons and daughters, Sophia Flannery and Elizabeth Zimmerli; several cousins.
Donations may be made in his name to the food pantry of one's choice.
Memorial services will be held 1pm Friday, October 28, 2016, at the Marshfield Congregational Church with Pastor John Sprague officiating.
