Levant - Gary Fredrick Ross died January 9, 2019, in Bangor surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on October 14, 1951.
Attended Carmel School and graduated from Hermon High School, where he took his basketball team to the tournament, class of 1970.
Gary served in the Army from 1971 - 19777. He was stationed in Germany from 1971 - 1973, 1st Bn. 75 Arty.
He worked for the Maine D.O.T., Bangor Railroad, and Dead River Co. in Hampden, where he was employed with his brother-in-law and good friend, the late Ed McKenna.
Gary enjoyed time with family and friends, gardening, putin around on the four wheeler, and his six grandchildren.
He is survived by wife, Donna; two sons, Travis and Gary; one daughter, Corinne; one daughter-in-law, Tanya; six grandchildren, Izabell, Troy, Kadyn, Cameron, Tanner, and Andrew. Surviving siblings include brothers, Cecil, Darrell, Ronnie, and Melvin; sisters, Bernice, Virginia, and Sandy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Dorothy; one son, Brian; brothers, Archie, Harrison, Albert, Dana, Donald and Willie; and sisters, Vivian, Evelyn, and Gerry.
The family would like to say a special thanks to closest friends who shared in his life, through all the fun times and hardships as well.
Gary leaves behind special friends, Larry and Edna.
A memorial service with military honors will be held in the spring in Levant.

I salute his service. We were in Germany at the same time but far distance. Gary was always a "straight shooter" both on the court and in his life. May he rest in peace.
