- Beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away suddenly on the morning of January 9, 2018. Gary worked as a carpenter building not only structures, but relationships that would prove to last a lifetime.
Gary is survived by his mother and stepfather, Rena and Robert Curtis of Ellsworth; one son, Jeremy and wife, Susie, of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Calla and husband, Jacob, of Ellsworth; his much loved companion, Lee Sargent, and her daughter, Katlyn, of Orland; seven brothers, Howard of Oregon, Dana and wife, Debbie, of Ellsworth, Brent of Connecticut, Donnie and wife, Doris, of Vermont, Dewey and wife, Becky, of Eastbrook, Jim and wife, Marie, of Eastbrook, John of Ellsworth; one sister, Marie and husband, Ray, of Connecticut, and many special nieces and nephews, and too many friends to try to list.
Gary was predeceased by his father, John H. Lane, II.
For as humble of man as he was, he surely become a legend; hence the nickname "The Good Gare"! In lieu of flowers Gary would say, "Do a good deed for a friend".
There will be a celebration of Gary's life on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge at Carriage Way off Bucksport Road, Ellsworth, ME.
