BROOKSVILLE - G. Dale True (Sept 5, 1929 - May 17, 2015) of Brooksville, passed away peacefully after a long illness. Dale was born in Springfield, the youngest of seven children of Linnie and Asia True, and was a long time resident of Berlin, NH. He graduated from University of Maine and Bangor Theological Seminary, and served in the Korean War. Dale served the Brooksville Circuit as a student minister, then was pastor of the Berlin and Errol, NH UCC congregations for 20 years. While there, he devoted much time, energy, and love as site manager for Horton Center, a UCC camping and retreat center. In recent years, Dale volunteered with Brooksville's Meals program and was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill. He loved the color red, good coffee, Ford trucks, country music, working with his hands and mentoring young people.
Dale leaves his wife Patricia, his daughters Elizabeth and Catherine, and his granddaughter Mikayla, his brother-in-law George Robbins and sister-in-law Helen True, and many much-loved nephews, nieces, and almost-family.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Courtland Rehabilitation and Living Center in Ellsworth for taking such great care of Dale.
