- Frank King, 69, passed away Aug. 8, 2017, at a Bangor hospital after a short
illness. He was born Aug. 16, 1947, in Bangor, to Fayette King and Arlene (Smith) King.
Frank was a graduate of Ellsworth High School, class of 1965. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving in Vietnam and Desert Storm. He retired from Bangor Air National Guard after 28 years of service. After retiring, he went to work at Jackson Lab as a security guard for 16
Frank is survived by his wife of 45 wonderful years, Virginia (Greenlaw) King; a son, Frank II and wife, Pamela; two grandchildren, Frank III and Ashley; brother, David King and wife, Kathryn; sisters, Gayle Stanfield and Vicki Best; many nieces and nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Judy; special niece, Christina Greenlaw; and brother-in-law, Bill Stanfield.
Per his wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service. A gathering in his memory will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 1 p.m. at his home in Ellsworth.
