- Frank H. Bradsell, 94, passed away August 29, 2017, entering into eternal rest, joining his wife, Helen Louise (McDonald) Bradsell, who predeceased him by many years.
He was born in Valhalla, NY, November 30, 1922, son of Frank and Phoebe Bradsell.
An army veteran of WWII, Frank served in the US and the European Theatre of operations. After his 1945 discharge he rejoined the Army Air Force, assigned to Dow AF Base, where he met and married his wife. The 1949 base deactivation transferred them to Michigan, and at the onset of the Korean War, he was sent to Japan and Korea in 1951 as an aircraft mechanic. After his Korean tour, he was assigned to the Air Force Training school in Amarillo, Texas, as an instructor of jet engines. In 1953 he was discharged and returned to Maine. He was employed with the Old Town Mill and James River, retiring in 1984.
After retirement he enjoyed camping and traveling around New England.
Frank was a life member of the Korean War Veteran's Association of Maine, the American Legion Post 70 of Troy Alabama.
Surviving are a daughter, Georgia Thurlow of Brewer and her family.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Donations in his memory may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
